How does your repair service work?

In simplest form: You ship your broken Zune to us, we repair it and ship it back.

Explained with a little more detail:

  • Find your model Zune in the Repair section, fill out a Diagnostic Work Order and ship your Zune to us
  • Shortly after it arrives we'll send you an email to let you know we received it
  • Next a Zune Technician will examine and diagnose your Zune
  • Then we'll send you another email with a repair estimate and an invoice
  • You then review the estimate and decide what you want, you can have your Zune repaired, returned or sold to us as-is
  • Once you decide, billing gets finalized

How do I pay for Zune repair service?

You pay for Zune repairs after we diagnose your Zune, we'll email you an estimate and a PayPal invoice. You can pay the invoice with your PayPal balance, credit card or debit card. What is PayPal? Click the logo at the bottom of this page for a quick explanation. We also accept money orders and personal checks.

How do I pay for Zune parts?

You pay for Zune parts immediately, during checkout with PayPal. You can pay with your PayPal balance, credit card or debit card. Or, you can send us a money order or personal check. What is your guarantee on Zune repairs?

All repairs are guaranteed for 60 days from the day you get it back. If the part we replaced fails, we will replace it for free. Send us an email with a description of your trouble. We will quickly reply and help diagnose the trouble, or ask you to send it back to us. We will diagnose your Zune and contact you. It will be repaired and returned for free if the original malfunction failed. If it is not the same failure or malfunction, we instead will be contacting you with a repair quote.

What is the turnaround time for Zune repairs?

You pack and ship your Zune to us. Once we notify you that we received your Zune, we will have your Zune diagnosed within 7 days. As soon as we receive payment we will have your Zune repaired and shipped within 1 business day. We ship repaired Zunes via Priority Mail which only takes 2 to 3 days to anywhere USA.

What is your return policy on Zune repairs?

We do not offer refunds or returns on completed Zune services. Repairs are guaranteed to work for 60 days from the day you get it back.

Will my music, videos and pictures be saved while you are working on my Zune?

We use every precaution to preserve your data, but you run the risk of loosing all of it during any internal Zune repair. Try to sync or backup your Zune before sending it in. We have a very high success rate when it comes to saving your data, but we simply cannot guarantee it. Data loss usually occurs with hard drive failures. Most other issues can been repaired while keeping your music and data safe, but there is no guarantee.

How long will it take to get my Zune repaired?

We will diagnose your Zune and provide a repair estimate within 7 days of receiving it. You then reply to the estimate. Once you reply, we usually have Zunes repaired by the next business day. We return all Zunes via Priority Mail, which only takes up to 3 days to get to most USA locations.

What brand of parts do you sell and service Zunes with?

We only have OEM parts, the same parts Microsoft uses. Some parts are brand new and some are re-purposed. Either way, all Zune repair services come with a 60-day guarantee, and all parts come with a 7 day return policy.

How can I check the status of my order?

Just send us an email, but you probably will not need to. We stay in touch with you via email throughout the process.

What if I need to cancel my order?

No problem. If we have not diagnosed your Zune yet, you just pay $10 for return shipping and handling. If we have diagnosed your Zune before you cancel your order, the cost for the diagnosis and return shipping is $20.

After you diagnose my Zune, how long will you hold onto it?

Once we provide you with a diagnosis and repair quote, you have 60 days to respond to our emails or pay for the repair service. If contact or payment is not received inside 60 days, the Zune becomes property of ABC Zune Repair. It will most likely get disassembled and used for spare parts.
